Ball Check!

Maintaining a blog that allows comments is asking the world to share their thoughts/opinions/concerns/etc. I get it. I want people to comment on my blog. I want people to share.

Criticism will come. Stupidity will come (See comments section). Friendships will be made. Endless opportunities. I get it.

What I do not get is when people leave anonymous rude/snarky/bitchy comments directed towards others. Have the balls to leave your name and contact information. Be man or woman enough to stand behind your words. If you can't do that, shut up, keep your fingers off the keyboard, and settle for being a chicken shit.

Away.. Away

OK. I haven't been in the blogosphere for a couple of reasons. Unfortunately, the main reason is because I am experiencing a nasty virus on my laptop. I've done everything the Best Buy Geek Squad would do; however, I have had no luck. The BBGS told me the next step would be to reformat my computer, but I am trying to ensure I have everything saved before doing reformatting. The second reason is because I am moving, and I loathe moving.

Good news-- the poems are pouring out. I'm engaged in a writing exercise with a poet-friend, and it has very productive and fun. Because of the exercise I wrote three poems last week, and it looks like there will be another two to three this week. I'm excited to see what I end up once we're done with this exercise.

OK... back to being a semi-recluse. Hopefully, I should be back in the blogging world fully within another week or two.

Blogosphere, Movies, and Poetry

Friend and poet, Collin Kelley, has been nominated for 2007 Poet Laureate of the Blogosphere, and today is the last day for voting. Take a moment to check out his blog, and I'm sure you'll want to cast your vote for him. (CK, hope you win!)

Within the past few weeks I've seen Notes on a Scandal, Thank You for Smoking, The Last King of Scotland, and finished season two of Carnivàle. NOTES kept me on the edge of the couch; Judi was amazing in her role. THANK YOU kept me laughing-- "The great state of Vermont will not apologize for its cheese!" THE LAST KING depressed me because a dear friend of mine has loved ones who've experienced atrocities in Uganda. Carnivàle didn't leave me too happy. I didn't realize HBO pulled the plug on the show after season 2; now, I must live my life without Carnivàle closure.

In honor of National Poetry Month I posted a few poems in my Myspace blog:
